Based on Morris West's best-selling novel, this tense political
thriller explores the world of treasonous politics, love and high
finance. The Salamander is the code name of a wealthy
industrialist (Anthony Quinn) who is dedicated to defeating
terrorism. In Italy's dark underworld, a General mysteriously
dies and intelligence agents find only one significant clue at
the murder scene, a calling card bearing the crest of The
Salamander. Special Agent Dante (Franco Nero), after falling in
love with the late General's girlfriend (Sybil Danning), follows
a trail that leads to a hair-raising series of murders. He turns
to The Salamander and the two unite to overtake the conspirators.
