░ The Debut from the local half-machine reincarnated Bon Scott known ░
░ as AC/3P. An Album of all AC/DC's classic tracks in pure electronic ░
░ bliss. well almost bliss, plus a few dirty techno numbers. ░

░ "AC/3P is a Sydney multi-media boffin whose hilarious and probably ░
░ unauthorised "Watch Me Explode" album is a C3P0 take on AC/DC. ░
░ Described in press notes as "dirty robot karaoke," it is hard to ░
░ disagree. But, in its own weird and wonderful way, "Watch Me ░
░ Explode" works well. "Hell's Bells" is downsized to casiotone ░
░ madness: a steady dance beat kick drum with AC/DC's signature riff ░
░ packing the all power of a cheap calculator. "Data Deeds" and "For ░
░ Those About To Rave" are similarly surreal. "Watch Me Explode" is ░
░ electro and rock with a decidedly queer ear. When AC/3P cautions ░
░ Satan in "Hell's Bell,"you half expect the Fab Five to kick in on ░
░ backing vocals." ░

░ "I was recently lamenting to a friend how nowadays it's all too rare ░
░ to hear heavy metal blasting from rev heads' car stereos. Instead ░
░ you're treated to doof doof heavy bass beats and endless crap techno ░
░ where once was loud guitars and the blood curdling scream of bands ░
░ like iron maiden and AC/DC. Mothers would practically block the ears ░
░ of their young impressionable children and shield them from the ░
░ sight of these devil worshiping drug taking layabouts in their ░
░ hotted up cars less their own offspring would fall prey to this ░
░ deplorable way of life. ░

░ So while I can't really imagine hoons blasting this lp of cheesy ░
░ electronic covers of ACDC out of their car stereos it's certainly a ░
░ step in the right direction. AC/3P is resident Sydney geek Wade ░
░ Marynowsky. It's a kitsch pastiche of drunken karaoke comedy and ░
░ irreverent reinterpretations - the sound of one man locked in his ░
░ bedroom that should really have something better to do and it's as ░
░ horrible as it is hilarious. ░

░ I for one have never been an AC/DC fan, have never heard an album ░
░ all the way through, but it's amazing how many of these songs - as ░
░ warped and bastardised as they are, actually get me singing along. ░
░ The fancy fretwork, licks and heavy riffs have been replaced by ░
░ cheesy Casio drumbeats and midi mayhem. Songs like Back in Black ░
░ come off like the Chipmunks after accidentally ingesting magic ░
░ mushrooms singing karaoke in a log cabin, others like Data Deeds ░
░ Done Dirt Cheap come off like the late night laments of an out of ░
░ work computer programmer." ░
