AMEN, deceptively hooky metal,not coincidentally, to
Robinson's new label- blended the quiet/loud dynamics of
grunge, the sheer visceral anger of punk and the bluesy
tunes of Led Zeppelin;they were not only the best band of
the festival,but rampantly popular too. Given how little
exposure thay have had in the UK it was a remarkable
achievement.The title of Amen's splendidly raucous imminent
new album, We Have Come For Your Parents, is perhaps a
little too deferential to their most obvious demographic,
but there's plenty here too for older listeners with robust
cochleae. They plan to return in November for a 5 day
tour-stay tuned for more. New release date set for Halloween
2000.
