░  The debut album from Stiff Gins was recorded at Sony Music Studios &  ░
░  as removed form the humble beginnings of Soh Fa as you can get.       ░
░  Recorded with Bill Jacobi (Floyd Vincent & the Child Brides), Greg    ░
░  Sheehan (Skin) & produced by Ben Fink (The Whitlams) also on          ░
░  guitars, this was the first full blown recording experience for       ░
░  Stiff Gins & their first real foray into æthe music industry:         ░

░  "All of a sudden we went from 3 blackfullas at Eora Centre to doing   ░
░  radio interviews, having a manager & an agent, playing with all       ░
░  these fantastic musicians & recording at Sony. It was pretty weird."  ░

░  While the detail & intricacy Ben & the other musicians give the       ░
░  recording is obvious, ORIGINS was a defining moment in the history    ░
░  of the band for other reasons. The original line up of Stiff Gins -   ░
░  then 2 years old - changed after Emma Donovan left the band soon      ░
░  after the recording.                                                  ░

░  Stiff Gins continued to support the album however, going ahead with   ░
░  a planned nine week tour of UK, US, Canada & Europe Mags Raw joined   ░
░  in October of 2001 for the Australian release & tour of ORIGINS -     ░
░  her first gig being the Launch at the Basement in Sydney. Joined on   ░
░  tour by Ben Fink, Matt Ledgar & Bill Jacobi, Stiff Gins ended 2001    ░
░  on a high performing to packed crowds at the Woodford Folk Festival.  ░

░  Australian music kicks arse. Always has, always will. We're just glad ░
