Release Notes:

Recorded while the band members were still students at Hopkins
High School in suburban Minnesota, We Got the Movement is a
wonderfully hyperactive burst of screaming, hip-hop-inspired indie
rock. The first track, "We Will Be Smiling Forever," is a good
indicator of the guys' dedication to their music, and their
inability to take themselves too seriously (see also the hilarious
"promo spot" at the end of the disc). Tagged by many a critic as
Pavement wannabes, Movement does bear a passing resemblance to the
sultans of sloppy chic; the band even cite them as an influence,
but this EP is, by and large, more excited than anything Stephen
Malkmus has ever committed to tape. The most important distinction
between Pavement and the Plastic Constellations, however, is that
the latter would never allow themselves to be bound by the
callousness of irony - they're too bent on the honesty of a good
time. The difference between Jordan Roske's admittedly bad singing
on "It's Us!!" and Scott Kannberg's lazy delivery on "Date With
Ikea" is simple, but important: where Kannberg sounds spoiled,
Roske sounds genuine. So, armed with electric guitars, punk-pop
battle hymns, and an intense sense of loyalty, the Plastic
Constellations are on a mission to rock out. The band is prepared
to risk life and limb on their quest, just ask anyone who's seen
them perform; or, consider the evidence of "Tonite We Might's"
day-of-the-show contemplation, "nice night for a neck injury."
