SetSquare closes out an immensely productive year with his fourth LP
release. Yes... four-full length releases over a six month span. His
output has shown a familiar format as well as an adventurous
progression. This final 12-track saga ties up this series beautifully.
Here is the process as described by SetSquare:
'WhiteBoard: Many layers of ambient noise form the basis for this
plodding bas heavy opener.
Lap/Lux: melodic sample and hold lines work their way through a
pensive beginning, into a four on the floor banger. Filtered rhythmic
bursts, and an ominous sequence help carry the momentum until it all
crumbles away...
KodaChrome: a gentle chord progression and bass swells meander along,
eventually giving way to duelling set of arpeggios.
BlankScreen: noisey, modulated synth drones, serve as the backdrop for
a simple yet haunting melody.
PhaseCable No.1 & 2: Two distinct parts, that share melodic
sensibilities. An ambient opening section sets the mood, as the
