Pamela was born in Tampere the 25th february 1978. She showed a lot of
enthusiasm towards music and performing since she was a little child.
Pamela joined a childrens choir when she was 9-years old and started
playing the piano at the same age.
"I wrote my first lyrics as a young girl. I have always felt that
singing and writing are the most natural ways for me to communicate. I
have a passioned feeling to doing both." Pamela studies musicology at
the University of Helsinki. She has also studied classical singing for
many years with her teacher Sini Rautavaara.
Pamela has sung in many bands and for a decade performed as a singer.
She has worked in the music field both in Finland and France. She is
musically orientated to rhythm`n`blues music and her repertoire
consists of jazzsongs to blues, soul, pop and rock music. Pamela is a
soulful singer who doesn`t want to categorize herself too much when it
comes to music. " Music is the real love of my life and I don`t think
I can ever focus on only one particular style of music because I love
to experiment with the elements of different musical styles". Pamela´s
first album "When I Was With You will be released on april 2006. It`s
a jazz album filled with beautiful ballads and relaxed feelings. All
songs are composed by Heikki Sarmanto.
The songs vary from affective jazzballads to vivid brazilian rhythms.
There are finnish top jazzmusicians playing on the album, Heikki
Sarmanto- piano, Pekka Sarmanto- contrabass, Jussi Kannaste-
saxophone, Juhani Aaltonen- flute and Markus Ketola- drums.
