In an era where "keeping it real" has turned into an idealized concept
of pop culture it has become extremely difficult to distinguish the
real from the fake. However even the most skeptical critic can't deny
the "Truth." Young Dre or Drizzle as he is referred to by those close
to him first began honing his prolific rhyme skills while still in
grade school. After winning a poetry contest Young Dre began to
develop an appreciation for the impact that the delivery of
strategically placed words could have on people. This experience
served as the catalyst for the Seattle-born, South-Central raised
rapper's motivation to begin penning rhymes that would be an accurate
reflection of his real life experience as opposed to commercial
propaganda. He speaks what he lives. As each lyric is laid, even the
most casual ear will be drawn to the uniquely skillful flow that Young
Dre delivers. Whether the tempo is fast, slow, grimy or non-existent
his unparalleled talent allows him the versatility to manipulate the
track to create true music that invokes thought and conversation. At
times you may find yourself asking, "Did he just say that?" Inevitably
where Young Dre is concerned the most likely answer will be yes. His
uncensored biographical commentaries are arguably his greatest assets.
A careful listen to his lyrics reveal installments into a life of
evolving turmoil, triumph and determination. Violence is not glorified
as sport; rather the narratives reflect the reality of the means
necessary for his survival. His honesty is painfully refreshing. Over
the years Young Dre has lent his lyrical talents to several major
released projects including, but not limited to, Malibu's Most Wanted
[Soundtrack], Thug Angel: Life of an Outlaw [Soundtrack] [Documentary
to the life of Tupac Shakur] and Thug on Da Line [Solo album by Krazie
Bone of Bone Thugs-N-Harmony]. Most recently he can be heard lacing
Activision's, True Crime: Streets of L.A. videogame soundtrack, as
well as, the title track for the forthcoming Eddie Griffin top-lined
comedy "My Baby's Mama." Refusing to confine his talents to wax, Young
Dre can be seen on the big screen in Malibu's Most Wanted (Warner
Brothers 2003) and in My Baby's Mama scheduled for wide release in
January 2004 (Miramax 2004). In addition to his big screen
appearances, Young Dre can also be seen in the Showtime series, The
Next Episode, (November 2003) which takes an intimate look into the
underground world of grimy rap battles. Young Dre's swift mouthpiece
and sharp tongue serve up gritty reminders of the constant struggle of
street life while allowing room for him to display other facets of his
personality and experiences. It is this combination of reality and
reason that makes Young Dre such an appealing artist. While Young
Dre's loyal fan base has eagerly been anticipating his major debut
release, he respectfully has been patiently waiting for the opportune
moment to make his official introduction to the world on his own terms
and from start to finish in his own words. In his song entitled "Real
Talk" Young Dre says it best, "What you in it for, just fifteen
minutes? You too thirsty, not hungry and it's a difference. False
follies is finished. REAL TALK. Now let the ridahs in it, who really
did it and naturally spit it. Real talk minus the floss." Stay tuned
