     Birmingham upstart Velum Break strides onto the Analogical Force
     label with the wildly diverse Cloaca EP. Dabbling with drum and
     bass, breakbeat and electro and somehow managing to sound not
     quite like any of those genres. The title track takes the snarling
     bassline and icy chords of early techstep d&b and rephrases it
     over a chunky IDM drum track, while æUtopia Cape StretchÆ posits
     lush wavering synth washes over a smattered broken beat. Cloaca is
     a brazenly confident and strikingly unique debut outing on the
     label, more fittingly described as future club music as imagined
     in a late eighties sci-fi movie.
