Scott Quick has been DJÆing throughout Salt Lake City for over a decade with
residencies at all the major clubs in Utah including Bricks, Axis, and currently
a resident at The Vortex. He also had the opportunity to play at several
occasions through the 2002 Winter Olympics and has played along side some of the
top DJÆs like Donald Glaude, DJ Dan, DJ Icey and many others. His passion for
playing music for a slamminÆ dance floor can easily be felt in the high energy
of his famous sets ranging from funky to banginÆ house. Recognized in Salt Lake
as one of the leaders of the electronic music scene, Scott is dedicated to the
art of DJÆing and to creating an environment that is all-consuming to the mind
body and spirit of house music. His devotion has led to the development of Quick
& Weight with Darren Weight in an effort to bring house music to the next level.
Darren Weight started working in the studio at the young age of 17. A natural
progression from the electronic music he began writing at that time led him to
begin DJÆing at 21, and over the past 13 years has worked in the Salt Lake City
club scene not only with his incredible DJ skills, but also in designing and
creating some of the hottest clubs in town including Area 51 and X-scape, with a
current residency at The Trapp Door. His experience in the clubs has been a
benefit to his career, yet he continues to expand with his original music in the
studio with an upcoming European release of Tears of Joy with up and coming
artists Kuffdam and Plant. Darren is always searching for new experiences in
wide range of electronic music and working with Scott Quick on the Quick &
Weight project is the perfect combination of fresh and funky.
This duo is out to set new heights for the house scene with their grinding beats
and vicious vocal tracks. With a whole new approach to the creation of and
composition of house music, the sound they have created is distinct and new.
Quick & Weight is excited to be involved with Eden Recordings and to share their
vision of the future of house.
