This band is one of the many ignored little gems from the 80's
overcrowded hard rock scene. I suspect the issue here is an iffy band
name, no push from the label, and the rough job of trying to break
through in a scene being dominated by American and some British acts.
With the proper management/promotion, these guys could have been huge
outside of Europe.
It's truly hard to believe that this band hails from Sweden, as the
music within is hooky, bluesy, Hard Rock with an 80's big hair stadium
rock feel. This band is kinda like Hanoi Rocks meets AC/DC. Banshee howl
vocals, big sing-a-long choruses, pulsating bass lines, gritty guitar
lines and punchy drumming.
Definitely a must for fans of bands like AC/DC, Cinderella and Krokus.

DonÆt judge this album by the main definition of the word ôTrashö, as
their music has nothing in common with that! Honestly, I canÆt remember
how I was turned on to this band (surely wasnÆt the name), but my best
guess is that I found them on a compilation album (Scandinavian Attack
LP. They just happen to be another metal group which hails from northern
Europe.
To my knowledge, TRASH/BurninÆ Rock is the bands second album, and
certainly their most successful. Every song is worth listening too,
which is (ideally) what I look for in records. Its very obvious their
music leans heavily on AC/DCs influence, while the lyrics seem
reminiscent of David CoverdaleÆs Whitesnake. Add Trash to the long list
of Scandinavian artists that rock!
Just about every song features the hard rockinÆ guitar riffs that AC/DC
is known for. Trash does add their own unique melodies and great back-up
vocals. The best song is titled ôI CanÆt Get The One (I wantà)ö, and
features a great mix of lyrics, tempo, and heavy guitars. I also really
like the albums only ballad, ôTake My Flightö, which features some great
vocals and keyboards to boot.
Imagine AC/DC mixed with Whitesnake, and that would create Trash! Of
course the band name refers to a state of mind, rather than their
musical abilities. Its certainly worth looking for.
