On a real hot streak at the moment is the Breaks 'N' Pieces label
which gives rise to a new artist in Bartholomew Kind! Turning in a six
track EP bookend by the filmic messages embedded within "Would You Do
That To Me?" and "Get Well Soon" - Breaks 'N' Pieces Vol 7 takes in a
liquid sound mixed up by mellow house rhythms, R&B vocals and
sustained strings, to Autonomic basslines and the static, crackle n
pop of Burial-esque atmospheres. With the heart and soul of this
record coming through "Sweetheart", "Sapien Beat", "Memento" and
"Feelz" - thanks to that fine film HER - this is an EP that will
appeal to those thirsting for a perfect middle ground between Burial
and Bicep.
