     ôBe Still Pleaseö was the 6th release of the most exclusive project of Mac
     McCaughan, one of the owners of the legendary label Merge, (birthplace of
     The Arcade Fire, M. Ward, Lambshop, The Clientele and The Magnetic Fields
     amongst others...), lead singer of Superchunk and significant songwriter of
     brilliant and captivating indie-rock for Portastatic, who published their
     best album, a ôBe Still Pleaseô which came with three bonus tracks in the
     European edition and is an emotional and passionate tour de force. In ôBe
     Still Pleaseö, there are female backing vocals (Laura Cantrell and Annie
     Hayden) and an overdubbed string section that both provides atmosphere and
     an extra layer of emotion as well as taking the place of guitars at times.
     Most noticeably, while the songs themselves are less guitar-based, Mac
     unleashes his guitar soloing skills on many of the them, sounding like a
     pint-sized cross between J Mascis and Neil Young, especially on the rousing
     finish of "You Blanks".
