Release Notes:
The much anticipated follow up to their acclaimed debut Lovers, The Sleepy Jackson
return on 7/24 with an even more ambitious and epic sophomore effort. Full of soul,
wonder, soaring string sections, celestial melodies and yes, Personality, the new
album mines a rich seam of pop history all the way from Phil Spector to Prince.
Combining the uplift of The Flaming Lips with the woozy sprawl of Brian Wilson,
Personality evokes a thirties Broadway production of The Beatles Revolver stage
managed by Todd Rundgren and Willy Wonka.
Hailing from Perth Australia (aka: the most isolated city on Earth), The Sleepy
Jackson is the brainchild of gonzo pop maestro Luke Steele. TheyÆve toured the
world extensively with My Morning Jacket, The Polyphonic Spree, Supergrass, Doves,
The Vine and Gomez, including memorable gigs at SXSW and the Coachella Festival.
Expect even more touring, critical accolades, airplay and web visibility for this
exceptional new album. Features focus track 'God Lead Your Soul'.
