│ During the enduring and uncertain opening battle against the continual
│ pandemic, the mantra of Markus Schulz's artist album being based around
│ a sense of Escape became patently clear. For a while, things would
│ change; the Saturday nights where our love for the DJ art would be on
│ pause, and the Sundays reflecting on the night before just became
│ another day. For international DJs and producers, the concept of waking
│ up at home on a Sunday morning seemed unrealistic. But a new reality
│ dawned, and for Markus, provoked him towards this melancholically
│ reflective instrumental piece; Sunday Chords. The initial spurt of
│ appraisal for the composition within the album boundaries blossomed
│ further through the Miami resident's acclaimed 10 stop audiovisual
│ Escape Tour throughout the fall and winter, where Sunday Chords
│ elevated the blissful backdrops of isolation in nature. Ably equipped
│ with an additional interpretation by Somna, Sunday Chords extends its
│ wings from cult community favorite to the wider trance circle.
