Playing a brand of New Wave/Post Punk inspired by bands like Gold Class, Drab
Majesty or electro pop legends Depeche Mode, Zurich based THYMIAN features the
multi-instrumentalist Josip Tijan.
As several changes in his life occurred, THYMIAN used his music and creative
drive as a valve to process the experiences he made during this time. It is a
record of change and self-reflection.
The 4-track EP was recorded and produced by himself in a cozy corner of his
bedroom in Zurich, Switzerland.
The rich baritone voice, driving basslines and reverb drenched guitars are only
some of THYMIANÆs distinct trademarks. That debut release, will be a 10ö vinyl
limited edition 200 copies coloured vinyl by label Wave Records. That 4 songs,
are very strong with catch refrain and complex melodies , who give Thymian a
plus to the project be recognized. For sure it will be a collector release in
the future.

Jones, yet the synth-laden rhythms and resonate guitars here are driven by
melody first and foremost, such as on the track Composure.╗

½Modern Fantasy by Thymian is simply wonderful - from the opening few bars
youÆll be hooked. This is tasteful, uplifting minimalist post-punk at its very
best. Rich baritone vocals, on point guitars, sparing use of sequencers and a
hook and melody to die for. The lyrics are the absolute icing on the cake too.
