Puny comes from Tampere (nowadays Tampere) and their music is mellow
indierock as its finest. Teemu Into has a great voice, which fits
perfectly to his intimate, but yet dynamic songs. I find the basic
mood of their music peaceful and emotional, but their playing is often
powerful and loud guitars (and even raw energy) are an important part
in their music.
Puny first charmed us with self-released ep back in 2000, but then
seem to just vanish. But luckily they didn't vanish and instead were
just working on a really good debut album. It took them a long time to
get it done due to various reasons, but the album titled 'Small Scale'
was finally released by Aisti Records on 30th of june 2004. The album
contained lots of great songs. Intense and tender at the same time.
Some rock tunes, some really beautiful pop songs. It was even better
than I expected and songs like 'Happy' and 'You Saved My Life' were
instantly memorable. A delightful album.
