In the deep of the gulf, the dark water flows through
MaquiladoraÆs songs; floating, exhaling. Submerged into
something foreign, yet archetypal, this EP is a sort of
divine consciousness, a soundtrack for the ocean. Some
sounds are familiar, others distant and remote, speaking to
those from below the surface. Maquiladora swims within The
Gulf. Their sound? Call it neo-leftfield folk, or
country/stoner rock, or even Americana with hints of
Slowcore, but what they do is basically dismantle the music
machine and rebuild it with alien parts. Deconstrucion and
clasicism? Yeah, why not?
