This is a collaboration between award winning artist/composer Robot
Koch from LA and Brooklyn based Blankfor.ms who is one of the most
followed tape loop artists on Instagram. Subtle Ones came about from
the shared fascination with timbre that brought Robot Koch and
BlankFor.ms together. Connecting on saturated tape tones and analog
noise, the two began Subtle Ones with a 4 track cassette improvisation
featuring an old spinet piano. Koch used these ingredients to add his
own magic to create an ambient yet pulsing production and added
arrangement ideas. BlankFor.ms added chords and textures using a
Sequential Prophet Six and a eurorack modular case heavily featuring
the Strymon Magneto.
The release also comes with a dreamy ambient remix by Foam and Sand,
which is Robot Koch`s Moniker for ambient music.
