"Nashvilles Cortney Tidwell (yes, its not a misspelling) is a
real oddity in the world of Country music fusing her roots
with shoegazer sounds, electronics and jazz influences with
unexpected twists at every turn. Track one is the real
winner, with a gorgeous synthesized bassline and
reverberating production, the fusion reminding me very much
of Laura Veirs at her absolute best but with enough emotion
and Bjork-ish vocal trickery to make this stand out all on
its own. As the record goes on we are treated to more
slowed-down alt.Country goodness, each seemingly tugging on
the heartstrings a little more, and every track retains that
sense of class, style and downright songwriting skill that
makes us gag for something a little more substantial (come
on, 6 tracks?? We want more!). Absolutely lovely."
