The Quantic Soul Orchestra's debut album Stampede
arrives courtesy of Will Holland, a.k.a Quantic.
Having already released two acclaimed albums under
his Quantic guise The 5th Exotic and Apricot Morning,
Stampede is his strictly sample-free, all-live
project. Influenced by super-heavy original funk,
soul, jazz and afro-beat, the band consists of 11
highly talented musicians and features the golden
voiced Alice Russell, who applies her sultry vocals
to three of the albums tracks, including the band's
breathtaking cover of 4Heros classic Hold it Down.
Stampede hit the shelves in April of 2003 and has
since received a wealth of fervent accolades from
the music press, club and radio DJs alike. The album
also includes a new vocal version of crowd pleaser
Super 8 by Jon Hughes and the timeless Babarabatiri
penned by Benney More/Titu Puente. In addition, having
ripped it up at a slew of sun drenched festivals and
overcapacity gigs nationwide, the QSO have proved that
the album gains a new dimension in a live environment,
sending crowds into a frenzy up and down the country,
