Speaking about live dub bands from France, here's another one: Casualty.
Like Manipulators, Casualty provides a heavy mixture of music styles,
all combined through, with and around pure dub. "Indubstrial" is pure fun
to listen to, really. Groovy, funky, stepping, surprising. One second,
you have a distant flute, then suddenly, you get a sample from Linval Thompson's
"I Love Marijuana", interrupted from some hardcore drum & bass vibes, leading
again into a pure dub version.
I'm really impressed by the French dub bands. Very enjoyable music,
shocking for the strict roots purists in some countries like, hmmmm, let
me think, for example, uh well, England! *lol*
What I also like from Casualty is that they have an English info sheet available.
That makes it much easier to understand who they are. And they also have the
perfect description for their style which I just have to quote:
"This unexpected cultural cross-fertilization emits a strong and unifying energy."
