Since he released his "Still" EP (Datapunk 8) Gregor :::::::::
Tresher, also known as Sniper Mode (Elektrolux), has :::::::::
definitely found his place among the most important German :::::::::
producers of the year 2005. Especially the title track :::::::::
"Still" fascinates the listener by adopting the emotional :::::::::
density of the RheinMain movement of the early nineties. :::::::::
This aspect was part of Sven Vaeths DJ set in summer 2005 :::::::::
and is consistently represented on his "Sound Of The Sixth :::::::::
Season" mix CD. One of the reasons why Tresher is :::::::::
especially appreciated by the Cocoon label is that he :::::::::
contributed the only remix to the midnight's dream club :::::::::
hit "Komm" by Vaeth and Rother. Tresher's third Datapunk :::::::::
release is a double EP that easily keeps up with the level :::::::::
set by his previous releases. With "Heat", Tresher :::::::::
develops the essence of the "Still" EP even further and :::::::::
unites prime time Electrotech and intense feelings under a :::::::::
sky full of strings. The track lets the rigorous Monopoly :::::::::
find its place somewhere between a furious saw blade and :::::::::
crystalline glass beads. The second part of the EP :::::::::
continues to cultivate this strategic balance between the :::::::::
dark feat of strength "Accel", influenced by EBM, and the :::::::::
bittersweet Neotrance incantation named "Neon" for which :::::::::
no prophet is needed to forecast an outstanding ranking in :::::::::

In the field of electronic music, Gregor Tresher is by no :::::::::
means a debutant. For more than five years the thirty-year :::::::::
old producer from Rhine-Main area gathered merits with his :::::::::
project Sniper Mode, modernizing the algorithms of :::::::::
Electro. After Gregor's EP-Debut "Big City Lights" :::::::::
(Elektrolux, 2001) his two albums "Wastelands" (2002) and :::::::::
"Travellers Beyond" (2002) layed the foundation for :::::::::
Elektrolux' sublabel Mikrolux. Also his remix for :::::::::
Germany's Synth-Pop masters "Camouflage" produced together :::::::::
with Pascal FEOS may be still lingering on in listeners' :::::::::
memories. The reason why some people see Gregor as the :::::::::
newcomer of 2005 are his current releases on Anthony :::::::::
Rother's Datapunk label which define the interface between :::::::::
Techno and Electro excitingly new. :::::::::

Up to now two tracks mark the highlight of this exciting :::::::::
musical development: "Still" (Datapunk 08) and Gregor's :::::::::
"Komm"-Remix of the Vaeth/Rother-contribution to Cocoon's :::::::::
Compilation E. Sven Vaeth upscaled both by playing them in :::::::::
his sets for months and therefore they are part of his :::::::::
"The sound of the sixth season"-compilation. :::::::::

Gregor's musical direction shown in his Datapunk-releases :::::::::
is underlined by his recent DJ-Gigs in the prime clubs :::::::::
everywhere in Europe: From London to Budapest, from Madrid :::::::::
to Athens, from Marseilles to Berlin. "To play anything :::::::::
from Tech-House to Electro in one set and present it in an :::::::::
exciting voyage is what Deejaying means to me for 2006." :::::::::

Similar to Anthony Rother, Electro is not a fix category :::::::::
for Gregor's production but more of an open :::::::::
reference-system between past, present and future of :::::::::
electronic music. "My musical foundations were laid by :::::::::
New-Wave classics like Heaven 17, The Human League or Anne :::::::::
Clarke. My next big influence was the techno-explosion in :::::::::
the early nineties. Later Anthony's early works "Sex with :::::::::
the machines" and "Red Light District" impressed and :::::::::
inspired me. When we first met he was about to launch the :::::::::
new label Datapunk. At the same time i wanted to progress :::::::::
musically and was looking for an innovative platform. The :::::::::
whole concept behind Datapunk was a perfect fit. As a :::::::::
consequence the related booking-agency "Databooks" :::::::::
represents me as a DJ." :::::::::

The coming year 2006 will probably be a highlight in :::::::::
Gregor's career. His cooperation with London's well known :::::::::
DJ Billy Nasty shows first encouraging results with :::::::::
releases on Datapunk ("Imperfection", release date tba.) :::::::::
and on Nasty's Electrix label (Nasty & Tresher - "Black :::::::::
Sorcery", January 2006). "Our sound developed to a hybrid :::::::::
between tech-house and electro, which also can be found in :::::::::
both of our DJ-Sets" (Tresher, November 2005). On Datapunk :::::::::
there will be new releases: the double-EP "Neon" in :::::::::
January, a DJ-Mix-CD later this year and finally the first :::::::::
Gregor Tresher Full-Length Album scheduled for fall 2006. :::::::::

The electronic music scene ain't like the pop and rock scene. Where ::::::
fans pays Euro100 for a ticket to a concert! It's smaller and ::::::
artists rely on units sold. Since you probably downloaded this ::::::
release and think you can have it for free -- you're wrong. That ::::::
mindset is killing the artists and the scene. Its simple, support ::::::
the people who support you, musically. ::::::

We at TechnoRulez are adamant about any of releases being posted in ::::::
public scene dupingchans and prechans! Please respect that, and ::::::
remove our releases from the db's. We insist that the scene must be ::::::
kept underground, and if the clueless lamers using such chans and ::::::
websites cant comply with the terms, you will see alot less of us. ::::::
That doesn't mean we will slow down, but we will take action to keep ::::::
our releases internal or a very limited spread. It is simply ::::::
unacceptable to post scene related info on *any* public source at ::::::
