Now I know what you're thinking... didn't DPS release this
Shannon thingy only a few weeks ago? Well, yes we did - but this
is the full 12" version with an exclusive extended cut, plus
full-length versions of the original and the dub edit.
You probably already know this track if you're downloading it now,
but for those who don't, the producers Chris Barbosa and Mark
Liggett took the electro funk template set by Mr. Afrika
Bambaataa, and spliced it with latin/african american influences
to create the genre known as Freestyle.
Though this wasn't the first single from Shannon's album, it is
definately the strongest. The vocals fit neatly with the
orchestral chord stabs and throbbing bassline, and although it may
sound dated to some, I still feel it delivers a funk-filled
electro workout and is well-worthy of a release. Enjoy!
