Gavin Herlihy follows up brilliantly received releases for Culprit and
Crosstown Rebels with the Get Loose EP for Leftroom this March – a
four-track release featuring No Regular Play on remix duties. Since
leaving his employment as a respected music journalist, Herlihy has
ploughed unnerving amounts of effort into his production career and
combined with an undoubted natural talent when it comes to musical
perversion, the results have been superb. Cadenza, Cocoon, Crosstown
Rebels and Moodmusic are just some of the labels that have bought into
the Irishmans distinct sound and the steady stream of quality isnt
about to let up. One of the hallmarks of Gavin Herlihys productions
is a deft touch when it comes to updating classic tropes and its a
skill that is hugely apparent across the Get Loose EP. The title track
draws on many elements of the early 90s rave and updates them
beautifully - making nagging vocal hits, moody synths and a bulbous,
