Dreams that went astray
a deep uncompromising journey into Jazzland new territory, Eberson's
unmistakable guitar "personality", trademark themes of the tallest
order, this time round accompanied by two distinct jazz generations -
the creme de la meme of both old school Norwegian jazz and it's new
breed key players.
On board for this new release, Jon Eberson has utilised the fresh
young talents of vocalist Beate Slettevold Lech, Jazzland's vocalist
discovery, famed for her recent hipper-than-thou excursions as "Beady
Belle" - as well as Nils Petter Molv?r's maestro of the decks,
Norway's leading turntablist, DJ Strangefruit.
Not that this album should just be seen as just another exercise in
fusion, no - Jon Eberson has managed to make things work, comfortably
and successfully. Eight sublime pieces, his performances sounding
fresher that ever, with a confident delivery perfect for fans of his
much celebrated past, and new listeners akin to the Jazzland
philosophy of taking things to places others try, but fail to reach!
Perfect for a late-night cinematic drive through Oslo jazz-ambiences,
melodic and astute as ever. Norwegian jazz doesn't get much better
than this. a select outing of Jazzland post-millennium urban sounds,
song and jazz excursions with a solid foundation provided by of one
