So we brought you the advance back in may and it turns out the retail has much
higher bitrates so we decided to put it out. Enjoy!
Fuck what ya' heard! Legends never die, and Brooklyn, NY's The Lordz are living
proof. Featuring veteran MC/graffiti legend Mr. Kaves and his brother/partner in
musical crime/MC/producer DJ ADM, these cats from underneath the Verrazano
Narrows are bringing back a mix of flavors sadly left behind, in an effort to
remind everyone that no matter how mainstream something may become, the essence
can never be lost.
While punk rock nor hip-hop were born in the 1980's, both rebellious forms of
expression and escapism have drastically veered off-course as a result of the
necessary evil known as cash money. What once were no more and no less than
creative avenues for those whose voices were not being heard, has been embraced
with open arms in the malls of America and beyond. Don't hate though. Better
hip-hop and punk than...a lot of other shit. That said, the evolution of these
cultures has resulted in too much of a sad de-evolution for a lot of people's
liking.
Enter The Lordz. With years of history as part of NYC's underground, as well as
a ton of worldwide touring under their belts, Kaves and ADM want to freshen up
how people perceive, and more importantly, hear 2 of the most important musical
movements in history. Punk and rap have always had tons in common, and The Lordz
don't see any good reason to keep their hard, abrasive guitar chocolate out of
their hip-hop peanut butter. Rap-metal this is fucking not! Fuck it - stop
reading this bullshit, and give a listen to the demos. The debut album will be
dropping this spring via Perfect Game Recording Co., and will boast some hot
collabos with the likes of Rancid's Tim Armstrong and Bedouin Sound Clash among
other surprises.
