ZAYKA used in Russian romance, meaning bunny.
ZAYKA is an intimate look into the aftermath of an abusive relationship and
heartbreaking insight that only comes with hindsight.
ôI was in a committed relationship with someone who I thought was my twin
flame.ö What began as a sincere, loving relationship, slowly but surely
deteriorated into literal sadism. ôIÆm not sure why I stayed, perhaps I
developed a sense of Stockholm Syndrome. I felt captive but still had love for
my captor.ö - MJ
ZAYKA is extremely personal.
ôHe was very reluctant to want to write about it but open to talk about it with
me. The artwork he was producing at the time and the intimate talks we had
really shaped the instrumentals. I was writing with all of his pain in mind and
I think it shows. Although these songs are very personal to Him, we still hope
others can find some kind of cathartic release if theyÆve been through something
similar.ö - KC
ZAYKA takes you through the mental anguish, confusion and self doubt when
dealing with a true narcissist but ends on a positive note.
ôI was being gaslit and led to believe I was losing touch with reality. That no
one could ever truly love me for who I am. But I was able to recognize what was
going on and remember who I am; a good man with a good heart. I think the
closing track says that quite nicely.ö - MJ
