Mood Series #46 is another special release in the history of
Greyscale. Presented on dubplate with limited artwork in ultra-rare
quantities, it honors the collectors and die-hards of the label. And
with special attention to how this release is presented, we certainly
felt the music would have to live up to that high standard. The highly
touted Ukraine duo Stiroll exceeded that demand and then some.
'Before' is for the melodic lovers as layers and layers of washes
soothe out the dub techno sound to a feeling of a serene paradise.
'Meanwhile' is a great example of Stiroll's ability to expand upon the
atmosphere and normal ambience with some field recordings / city
sounds that work amazing as it helps build the track to multiple chord
crescendos. If you are looking for a new angle and sound on dub
techno, then this is a must listen. 'Plateau' continues next with
wonderful busy chord work that is completely next level brilliance.
Lastly, 'Back Home' completes the EP with a darker journey a ... visit
