If youÆre going to call your band Now then youÆre already
up against some stiff competition I would have thought.
æNowÆ in music terms is associated with one thing and one
thing alone, and thatÆs the classic series of pop music
compilations we all know and love. Now 8, oh I remember you
wellà but enough about that, a band have seen it fit to
pillage this name and attach it to themselves, and what
sort of music do they make? Krautrockà not exactly Belinda
Carlyle is it? Sidestepping the dubious moniker, however,
the music itself is really rather spiffing, taking a
Stereolabbish synth heavy outlook on quite free Krautrock.
Dancelfoor-ready drumming and cheap synthesizer sounds make
up the majority of the tracks, and youÆd be surprised at
just how funky they sound for the most part, these guys
have clearly got their groove on.
æFrisbee Hot PotÆ is an enjoyably fun ride, and one well
worth checking out...
