█ █ Radio 1 Chart Show Live the day █ █
█ █ after performing Ravel in the █ █
█ █ Wigmore Hall. But for the Pavπo █ █
█ █ Quartet this was a typical weekend. █ █
█ █ This versatile ensemble is not only █ █
█ █ highly-regarded in classical concert █ █
█ █ venues across the UK, but has █ █
█ █ enjoyed collaborations with rock, █ █
█ █ pop and jazz artists and even a █ █
█ █ contemporary dance company. █ █
█ █ █ █
█ █ In addition to a busy UK schedule, █ █
█ █ the Pavπos have also performed in █ █
█ █ France, Germany, Israel, Italy, █ █
█ █ Latvia, Monaco, New York, Oman, █ █
█ █ Portugal and Spain. Formed in 1998 █ █
█ █ at the Royal Academy of Music, the █ █
█ █ Quartet was awarded the Sir John █ █
█ █ Barbirolli Memorial Prize (twice) █ █
█ █ and the John B. McEwen Prize before █ █
█ █ graduating with First Class Honours. █ █
█ █ In 2002, the Academy awarded them █ █
█ █ the Leverhulme Chamber Music █ █
█ █ Fellowship, which they held for two █ █
█ █ years. Popular with music societies █ █
█ █ and festivals nationwide they have █ █
█ █ over 50 quartets in their █ █
█ █ repertoire. They have been loaned █ █
█ █ Stradivarius instruments to play on █ █
█ █ many occasions. █ █

█ █ Recording this album has given the █ █
█ █ Pavπos a chance to explore a special █ █
█ █ musical era. They started playing █ █
█ █ these arrangements as encores at █ █
