the debut block 16 album 'morning sun' created such an interest
from producers and dj's around the world requesting to remix
tracks from the album that a remix album started to take shape.
here you will find the sublime vocal tracks and percussive
instrumentals remixed by some of todays most respected producers.
there are reworkings by such musical luminaries as pepe braddock,
brennan green, daniel wang and dubtribe amongst others who each
give their unique twist on some of morning sun's stand out tracks.
fug's remix of 'find an oasis', reworks the string laden original
into a melllow, downbeat classic keeping the unique vocals of
jhelisa who also appears on kost effective's disco-boogie version
of 'the land is yours' and rollercones dancefloor house remix of
'find an oasis'.
the joyous 'my sunshine', which was the last recording by the
legendary bim sherman before his untimely death, gets the
percussive treatment from san franciscan maestros, dubtribe. tony
assassin also turns his hand to 'my sunshine' exploring the more
dubwise feel of bim's vocal.
ray mang and xavier zubercock keep robert owens unique vocals for
their mix of can't stop and turn it into a late night dancefloor
house killer. electrokution, block 16's first single is turned on
it head by brennan green and daniel wang who extend the original
to almost 14 minutes and incorprorate moments of electro, dub and
rock in this epic evolusive mix.
title track 'morning sun' which features the voice of soul legend,
jon lucien is crafted into a piece of essential dancefloor
exuberance by french deep house don, pepe bradock. a jazzy broken
beat floor filler remixed by charlie dark of attica blues
completes the remix line-up.
