Salt Tank return with a progressive monster, in the form of The Energy
on Bedrock Records.
Salt Tank provide two of the mixes, the Spinback and Chimera mixes which
are of a slightly faster pace than the DJ Remy mix.
DJ Remy's Mix is on a darker but funkier tip, full of patterns of
infectious sinister synth lines. DJ Remy hails from the Netherlands and
he is a pioneering figure on the progressive house scene. Some of his
recent projects were on albums from the Northern Exposure and
Renaissance series, and he has also remixed Bedrock's Voices in the
past.
Salt Tank are best known for the 1994 UK Top 40 hit, 'Eugina' which was
championed by everyone from Sasha to Oakenfold, and even John Peel.
Currently having record deals with Bedrock, Perfecto and Hooj Choons,
Salt Tank have been responsible for some glorious serene ambient dance
hybrids over the last few years.
With two albums up their sleeves (94's 'Science & Nature', and the 1997
album 'Wavebreaks'), Salt Tank are currently working on their new album,
provisionally called 'The 4th Way'. 'Eugina' has been re-recorded with
a brilliant vocal mix by Neve. 'Eugina 2001' is planned to be released
in late summer 2001.
