My wife and I visited The Ankerwycke Yew* and I was struck by the decay and
sadness of the ruined priory next to it, which seems to be there almost as an
afterthought. An aside to the great Yew which stands a few feet away.
These pieces are reflections of the emotions and spiritual interactions at the
site.
*From Wikipedia - '...an ancient yew tree close to the ruins of St Mary's
Priory, the site of a Benedictine nunnery built in the 12th century, near
Wraysbury in Berkshire, England. The tree is at least 1,400 years old, and could
be as old as 2,500 years.'
