Release Notes:
2006 may be the most significant year for house-music producer KASKADE with the
release of his third album Love Mysterious on September 26.
The San Francisco-based artist whoÆs been making waves as the breakthrough
artist in his genre--rising up the ranks to the status of DJ/producer greats
like Daft Punk, Sasha, Oakenfold and Deep Dish--marks the changing of the tide
with a new sound by opting for more lush, guitar-driven and sweet vocal-laden
tracks (ôSorry,ö ôSometimes,ö and especially the first single ôBe Stillö due out
September 12) and a new label home with Ultra Records.
The albumÆs opening song is ôStars Align,ö of which KASKADE says: ôIt represents
how I feel about my career and the way things have been going for me. I didnÆt
consciously write it to express this point, but looking back on the record after
it was finished, I definitely associate this track with my life. ItÆs about how
everything has just lined up and somehow, has seemed to work out. IÆve been
lucky and blessed and this song is just my way of being thankful for it all.ö
The lyrics of ôStars Alignö combine with a powerful, kinetic track whose dark
melody and raw rippling of bass pierce the listener provocatively, a common
thread in the songs found on Love Mysterious.
Tracks ôIn This Life,ö ôDistanceö and ôFakeö cater to fans of KaskadeÆs previous
releases ItÆs You, ItÆs Me and In The Moment. Collaborations with vocalists like
Marcus Bentley, Joslyn, Becky Jean Williams (there are no instrumentals on Love
Mysterious) and producer Andy Caldwell (on the songs ôSorryö and ôThe Xö) add a
touch of shine on the 11 new productions on Love Mysterious, forming a
beautifully sequenced collection of fantastic house music.
