This collection of dub reggae rhythms features two of Jamaica's premier
1970s studio bands--the rootsy Revolutionaries and the less well-known
but no less accomplished Skin, Flesh & Bones. Though they employed
different bassist, guitarists, and keyboard players, both outfits had
the drummer Sly Dunbar in common, and this rhythmic consistency lends
cohesion to the album's sound. Producer Lloyd Campbell isn't a legendary
name like Lee "Scratch" Perry and Joe Gibbs, but he isn't afraid to
experiment, notably on the stuttering "Africa Dub," while cuts like
"Slavery Dub," with its lilting horn section, and the subtle "Scotch
  Dub," are classic Jamaican rhythms.
