With "Same", SMITH & MIGHTY present another release from the
fantastic long player, "Big World, Small World". The album has
already received excellent reviews and the time-honored Billboard
even cited it as the "missing link between Bob Marley, Soul II Soul
and Lauryn Hill". The track "Same" was produced back in 1996 and
appeared in a super-limited edition on the SMITH & MIGHTY label
More Rockers in the following year. This edition is considered
extremely sought-after today and "Same", amongst others, numbers
among Gilles Peterson's favorite tracks and he often still plays it
as the last track of his set. The beautiful down-tempo piece,
featuring the fabulous vocal skills of Tammy Payne, has been
remixed by John Forte (Refugee Camp) and Ashley Beedle, who have
both managed to give the piece their own personal twist. The John
Forte mix is likely to enthuse friends of R&B and hiphop, while
the Ashley Beedle mix will rock the open-minded house floors. A
fantastic single release that further reinforces SMITH & MIGHTY's
present supremacy.
