Luke Gordon releases 'The Beamer', Spacer's third LP showcasing
more of the excellent production skills he's picked up along his
way at Milo Studios (twiddling for the likes of Major Force and
Howie B). Unlike the jazzy explorations of his 'Atlas Earth' and
'Sensory Man' albums, 'The Beamer' has wider appeal. Don't be
mislead by the warm opener 'Smile'. The single 'Cursory Rub' must
be the floor-friendly Spacer tune ever; plusating house rythms
harping back to the early 90s progressive era. The tracks 'Move',
'Doomsday' and 'Dark Fader' all use solid fukny 4/4 and tough bass
with the trademark Spacer touches and tricks. Enough boom to keep
you moving, enough beep to keep you thinking.
