     modern electronic music has for some time been inspired by jazz. in
     collaboration with april records, the danish jazz federation       
     produced the idea of a project focusing on this fruitful merging of
     the two genres. editions of the anthology series "all that jazz    
     from denmark" were distributed to a number of danish musicians from
     the electronic scene. each of them chose one track that they wanted
     to remix. the result is this double cd release, one cd presenting  
     the original versions, the other holding the remixes.              
                                                                        
     with this final selection among the many remixes received, we have 
     attempted to achieve a certain degree of stylistical homogenity.   
     furthermore there has been attached importance  to - and this has  
     been the subjective opinion of the committee - the fact that the   
     original work has been respected. the result is a beautiful,       
     exciting and very inspiring cd.                                    
                                                                        
     to my experience much of the most interesting music is created     
     through the meeting of different cultures and genres. from my point
     of view this is a very successful example of that. in this context 
     it is no longer interesting where one genre ends and another       
     begins. what matters is that the artists, the remixers, have been  
     inspired by the original they have chosen, to create music that    
     sounds fresh and vivid.                                            
                                                                        
     this, like jazz, is sensuous listening music - sometimes with a    
     distinctly physical appeal.                                        
                                                                        
     still, this cd is only one expression of how the meeting of jazz   
     and electronic music sounds; on the live scene experiments and     
     inspirations move criss-cross, often making genre term useless - it
     is the hope of the editors that this double cd will strengthen this
     tendency.
