2 months ago, a group called MiX released a so-called "retail" rip of this album.
We decided to release our retail (the real one with proof) because,
other than the fact that their rip is nuked (for not being moved basically
ANYWHERE), their rip is just too sketchy, doesn't appear to be retail and to be
honest, feels definitely like an iTunes reencode.
First of all, let's start with how the MiX rip never got anywhere, wasn't raced fully,
so it doesn't even count in the first place 'cause no one can get it.
Second, their .nfo shows 11 tracks like ours, and still it is like 6mb smaller than
this one right here (might be them using lame 3.97 though but still, take notice).
Third, every track on their rip has an extra 1 or 2 seconds on it, pretty impossible
if they had a retail copy like we do, and while they state they were using EAC like
we do.
And fourth, we believe that a rip of this should be available out there, for anyone
who wants it, to get (and that other one obviously isn't).
2006 is already proving to be a massive year for The Hourly Radio as the band
returned from a sold out UK tour supporting stellastarr*, played several SXSW
shows, New York Citys Bowery Ballroom and are heading out this summer on a
nationwide tour. They have just released a limited edition double A-side 7
featuring the tracks Deaf Ears + Crime Does Pay which is available for download
on iTunes and will release their debut full length, HISTORY WILL NEVER HOLD ME,
on the internet June 27th and in stores September 5th.
