well this little gem is the one for you. ben is about to shake
things up a bit with his very own kind of quirky, rough around the
edges soul music. it's not easy to categorise, but it's what
happens when a kid who's been classically trained in cello, voice
and piano until the age of 18 grows up and gets into hip hop,
dance music and sample-based beats. "so good today" is one of
those feel-good tunes that gets under your skin and just keeps on
working. with a great vocal and a bumpin' nu-jazz beat it's a real
throw the windows open and two-step round the front room tune. or
wind them down, turn it up and keep on driving tune. either way,
it's a charmer. on the flip "beauty" is a beautiful slice of
instrumental niceness that'll carry you away on its strings and
picked out melody. with great programming and lovely melody, this
is a tune at the gentler edges of head-knodding territory. these
tracks finally get a proper release with domu reworks on the flip!
