release notes
............,
Following on from their superlative reissue of Voigt Kampff's
'Skinnycap / Asphault', Mighty Robot have now opened their steely
bosom to the delights of Maarteen Van Der Vleuten and his 'Kremahitz
EP'. Clocking in at four tracks, Maarteen Van Der Vleuten hasn't
wasted a single groove - with a selection that veers from the
gloriously dark electro (Electronome heads take note!) of '4barloop2'
through to the lithe Detroit purism of the stunning 'Eltec'. Coming
across like a genuine tonic to those who mine the release schedule
for neo-electo and upfront Italo, both '4barloop 2' and the Ruud 66
mix of 'Eltec' revel in Patrick Cowley bass, vocoder chants and a
filthy cowl of disco action that will bring a wanton grin to all
those with a debased side. Yet despite their inherent appeal, it's
the other two cuts that will really ignite the senses - constituting
some of the freshest techno to emerge in recent times. Kicking off
with 'Eltec', Van Der Vleuten serves up some Lowlands-inspired techno
that takes a leaf straight from Detroit's finest with an upfront
predilection that scoops you up for the duration. Similarly 'M&M2' is
another techno gem, with the luster this time provided by a batch of
gothic strings (courtesy of Brian 'Lustmord' Williams) - wherein a
sluggish beat and pronounced bass drum propel you wantonly towards a
melancholic conclusion that is as cold as ice and all the better for
it. Get!

........................,
MAEM is dedicated to the promotion of interesting electronic music, old
and new. Unlike most groups, we will not target individual sub-genres
within the electronic field. Quite simply, if we like the sound, we will
release it. This includes (but is by no means limited to) : techno, idm,
italo disco, electro, acid, ambient, downtempo, and house.
MAEM has years of ripping experience, and we will ensure we meet or
exceed the quality which is expected within the scene.
Finally, MAEM genuinely cares about the music we release. It may seem
somewhat cliche, but we buy ALL of the records we release, and if you
enjoy this mp3 sample, then do the right thing and buy a copy for
yourself. Good artists and record labels deserve your support!
Greetings to BEX, BOSS, BCC, CMC, DH, Disc0, DPS, EMP, FWYH, I8, JUST,
KW, PSYCZ, SOUP, SOUR, TR, UKI, and all MAEM affiliate sites. Thank you!
