Kevin Devine is a 26-year-old singer/songwriter from Brooklyn, New York. He has
released three albums: "Circle Gets the Square" (2001) on Immigrant Sun Records,
and "Make the Clocks Move" (2003) & "Split The Country, Split The Street" (2005)
on Triple Crown Records. He has toured thoroughly since January 2003, performing
more than 500 concerts throughout the US, Canada, and Europe.
"Make the Clocks Move" and "Split The Country, Split The Street" and their
attendant concert appearances have received favorable mention in Rolling Stone,
Stuff Magazine, Alternative Press, The New Yorker, The New York Times, New York
Magazine, The Village Voice, Time Out New York, The Onion, Salon.com, The
Baltimore Sun, AbsolutePunk.net, The Daily Texan (Austin, TX), Performing
Songwriter, Paste Magazine, SPIN.com, and numerous other publications.
Highlights of his recent concert appearances include dates supporting
Sleater-Kinney, Brand New, Bright Eyes, Corinne Bailey Rae, Evan Dando,
Cassandra Wilson, Stars, Lou Barlow, Fountains of Wayne, Nellie McKay, The Get
Up Kids, Mike Doughty, The Hold Steady, Bob Mould, The Rachel's, Aqualung, Tom

Devine has balanced his support runs with successful headlining shows across the
US and throughout Europe, both solo and with The Goddamn Band, his shifting and
versatile backing group (pianist/vocalist Amy Bracco, bassist/guitarist Chris
Bracco, vocalist Carey Brandenburg, drummer/percussionist Mike Skinner,
guitarist/bassist Russell Smith, and violinist Margaret White). He has also
appeared at numerous music festivals & conferences in recent years, including
performances at the 2004 & 2005 CMJ Music Marathon in New York City, 2005 & 2006
SXSW Music Festival in Austin, 2004 Halifax Pop Explosion in Nova Scotia,
Canada, and 2005 Bamboozle in Asbury Park, New Jersey.
In July 2005, Devine signed a recording contract with Capitol Records. He began
2006 demoing material with long-time producers (and Goddamn Band members) Chris
Bracco & Mike Skinner and engineer Dan Long, both at home and at Headgear
Studios in Brooklyn. In March and April, he headed west to record his first
Capitol release in Los Angeles, California with producer Rob Schnapf (Elliott
Smith, Beck, Guided By Voices, The Vines). The album, "Put Your Ghost To Rest,"
is scheduled to come out October 17, 2006.
