Nice Dub album by a now defunct UK-French duo. Issued on the
Gorgone Productions label, based in the north of France and related
to the Easy Dub Ducasse organisation that is setting up dub events
in France with french and international artists, like Massive
Attack's DJ Armagideon, who noticed the duo and remixed a title.
The french half continued under the name "Philippe Bomb" after
that, delivering a techno-dub percussive blend. The guy does some
of the best live shows i could see till now too.

Let us first get one thing out of the way: why Hanuman Care Kit?
Hanuman is a Monkey God in the Hindu religion, and a care kit is
... a care kit. Hence Hanuman Care Kit...
The astonishing thing about Hanuman Care Kit, apart from their
music of course, is the way things happened so quickly for them.
They met in September 1995, finished their first demo tape in
December 1995, signed with Gorgone in July 1996 and recorded their
first album between August and September 1996. They were soon to be
one of the revelations of the famous festival "Transmusicales de
Rennes 1996".
In November 1996, their debut album "Visited" was released in
France (distribution Musidisc) to ecstatic reviews from the music
press. The gods were very pleased... And what's more, Massive
Attack's DJ Gaffa Armagideon, after having listened to the album,
accepted to make the journey from Bristol to Lille to make two
remixes of one of their tracks ("Sombeleef").
The two members of Hanuman Care Kit - to which must be added an
English DJ for live performances- come from very different
backgrounds indeed. Flazz, the Frenchman (he is from Lille, north
of France), is a musician, well into all kinds of electronic music.
Stig, the Englishman, the voice of Hanuman Care Kit, is more of an
eclectic artist, he is a painter and has organised various
happenings in his home country. Musicwise he is more rooted in
pop/folk/reggae. Hence the riddle when it comes to defining Hanuman
Care Kit's music: a mix of dub, trip hop, hip hop, drum'n'bass,
house, ambient, pop. They constantly and obsessively quest new
sounds, new beats, more mind blowing atmospheres, but they never
forget that a good song is not only about a good beat but, above
all, about a great melody.
