karuan was born in 1976 as the son of kurdish parents. he grew up
in the suburbs of vienna, austria, where he is still living.
karuan┤s love for music arose from the kurdish singer sivan perwer
and from the traditional kurdish celebrations. at the age of six
karuan started to record his singing on music tapes. ever since
that day making music is karuan┤s most favourite occupation.
today the autodidact karuan is able to combine and synchronize
these various experinces in his own music. the result is an
artistic bridge between the oriental culture of his kurdish
ancestors and the european culture he lives in.
since 1999 karuan records for the sunshine enterprises label in
vienna.
his club-oriented debut-single "karuan.ep" was able to evoke both
good temper and attention on the international club-floors.
karuan┤s more personal single "walk" gives a first insight into
karuan┤s album.
"walk" is a blissed out piece of music, delivering a fine selected
blend of hindi funk, guitar pop and mellow hip hop beats. on "ome
inside" karuan offers again a serene balance of riffs, beats and
melodies, reflecting the love for his homecountry kurdistan.pork
recordings baby mammoth takes the track on a hypnotic, spaced out
level! some might call me crazy but it reminds me a bit on earlier
"orb" tracks, but in this case you have a track with a higher
dancefloor attitude.
