cosmic village have been on the scene for five years starting with
their debut single "trinkets & things" (a ryo kawasaki jazz
classic) and have built up a strong fanbase throughout those years
through their ability to draw upon the popular aspects of music
whilst keeping the experimental electronic quality within their
work. the band consists of four members: shuya okino (producer;
kyoto jazz massive), hajime yoshizawa (keyboards/vocals; sleep
walker), yasushi kurobane (guitar/computer graphics) and masato
nakamura (saxaphone/flute; sleep walker). however on "tbd", they
feature lori fine of coldfeet fame on vocals.
this album features a few new tracks they've worked on but also
incorporate some excellent remixes by recloose (matt chicoine),
mustang (alex attias), flytronix and jazztronik (ryota nozaki)
which showcase some of the original ideas by cosmic village on
productions from the last and current but in their own unique
twist. as well, an enhanced portion allows the viewer to catch a
glimpse of their only two videos for "you can see the light" (from
the last self-titled album) and "tbd" in mpeg format.
