│ This is the excellent debut-album of Brainshake, a tight band from │
│ Holland. │
│ │
│ Especially the singer rules (from beautiful emotional rock │
│ toinventive deep death metal vocals) │
│ │
│ Warning: this album is addictive... │
│ If you like it, buy it!!! │
│ │
│ │
│ Brainshake bio: │
│ │
│ Brainshake is all about loud music. Loud music with a soft spot. │
│ Starting off in late 1998, Brainshake is now a full-grown entity, │
│ five inspired guys with the same passion: music. │
│ │
│ With their roots in nu-metal, death-metal, and heavy rock music, │
│ Brainshake is has become an interesting and energetic melting pot. │
│ When you listen closely, you might hear the impact of Slipknot, the │
│ aggression of Vision of Disorder and the brutality of Cannibal │
│ Corpse, but also the heartbreaking chants of Jeff Buckley mixed with │
│ the inventiveness of Faith No More's Mike Patton will not leave you │
│ untouched. │
│ │
│ Brainshake recorded their 4-track debut demo, Silicon King, in May │
│ 2001, which was received with great enthusiasm. This is was a few │
│ magazines had to say: │
│ │
│ 'The phat mix of emocore and nu-metal is addicting and is really no │
│ less than some American bands who sell millions with it.' -- LiveXS, │
│ October 2001. │
│ │
│ 'Brainshake exceeds itself with down-tuned riffs and a singer with a │
│ great voice who can grunt as well.' -- Aardschok, august 2001. │
│ │
│ September 2002: Brainshake signs a record-deal with 4Tune Records in │
│ Amsterdam. This label is known by bands like Agresion, Laberinto and │
│ Motherfed. Now, their long awaited full-length debut album 'Gently │
│ Destructive' will hit the stores november 2002. │
│ │
│ Brainshake's live shows can be described as highly energetic, │
│ impressive and hypnotic. Sometimes merciless and angry, sometimes │
│ fragile and emotional, Brainshake forces you to listen carefully. │
│ With quite an impressive touring-past, they already played with │
│ bands like Agresion, Green Lizard, Dimension Seven, Undeclinable and │
│ Laberinto in venues like Paradiso, Melkweg and Waterfront. │
│ │
│ Expect to be surprised when you hook up with Brainshake, get ready │
│ for a serious headache! │
│ │
│ │

│ Loek Arnoldus - Drums │
│ Pim Arnoldus - Guitar │
