Sound Synthesis has made his name with releases on key
underground imprints like AC, Distant Worlds and Furthur
Electronix - now he impresses with this fine EP on Nocta Numerica.
The title track shows exactly why he enjoys so much acclaim; acid
lines swirl over ghostly synths, supported by a brittle back beat.
"Journey Of Life" is based on a more dance floor-focused,
pulsating groove, but similar musical elements come into play,
with a combination of dreamy synths and warbling 303s sounding
irresistible. "Welcome To The Acid Planet" is a darker affair;
vocodered vocals are wrapped around a pulsating electronic disco
groove, with bleeding acid lines adding to a sense of foreboding.
The release moves back towards the atmospheric as it concludes,
courtesy of the ghostly acid bleeds of "Spatial Effect".
