        :: Release Notes:
        ::
        :: YOU HAVE THE right to expect a well-crafted, meticulously
        :: designed product from a band consisting of two
        :: academically-trained composers.
        ::
        :: The complete absence of an official release despite four years of
        :: writing, recording, and performing original material justifiably
        :: raises expectations even higher.
        ::
        :: Fall, 2006: She, Sir present "Who Can't Say Yes", an EP
        :: delivering on the original promise of their demo recordings,
        :: which have garnered an ever-growing audience of music listeners,
        :: performers, and critics alike.
        ::
        :: Under the moniker of She, Sir, M. Grusha and Russell Karloff
        :: experiment with unorthodox guitar tunings and technique, and
        :: continually obsess over the aesthetics of songcraft. Intricate
        :: vocal counterpoint, modal harmonies and cagey rhythms--just a few
        :: of the elements that contribute to the She, Sir sound.
        ::
        :: Grusha and Karloff met while attending a music composition class
        :: at Iowa State University in the fall of 2000. Later that
        :: afternoon, the duo began writing music together.
        ::
        :: The year is 2006, and there is no end in sight.
        ::
        :: * * *
        :: "She, Sir have one of the most modernly unique sounds I have
        :: heard lately ...incredible ingenuity and a fitting flow. She,
        :: Sirs music seems to be oddly engaging. The EP contains a
        :: diverseness that should express great attention and detail to the
        :: music at hand."
        ::
        :: - Mike Mineo (Obscure Sound)
        :: "Delicately harmonized vocals and transparent guitar hooks that
        :: rarely backslide into simply leaden melodies. 'Who Can┤t Say Yes'
        :: finds She, Sir's melodic rock unhurried atmospherics and sharp
        :: melodies further adorned by layers of instrumentation. ...A band
        :: happy with an uncommon melodious minimalism."
        ::
        :: - Sabas (Sabas.Judas)
        :: "The album holds up over multiple listens as different aspects of
        :: the band's music come through. ...The lush texture on 'Who Can't
        :: Say Yes' will hypnotize you."
        ::
        :: - Brent (Consumption Junction)
        :: "...this is what would've happened if shoegaze was around when
        :: Bach was growing up. 'Intricately crafted' doesn't even begin to
        :: describe it. Every sound has its counterpoint, every note is in
        :: place."
        ::
        :: - Charles Olney (Heartache with Hard Work)
        :: "...you can hear the detail, not just the wash of different
        :: sounds and layers: something that so, so many of the first-wave
        :: shoegaze bands just couldn't pull off. They didn't know how to.
        :: These guys do."
        ::
        :: - Colin Clark (Let's Kiss And Make Up...)
        :: "Think of that state of elevated drowsiness right before you go
        :: to sleep, when music comes to you, but then you forget about it
        :: the next day. She, Sir nailed that; Instant classic that will
        :: drive me merrily insane."
        ::
        :: - Linda (Eardrums Shall Fail)
        :: "The attention to detail in the music is obvious, you get a sense
        :: that they almost obsess over every note."
        ::
        :: - Richard Gonzalez (Ultra8201)
