After forming in 2001, The Doxies have played hundreds of shows, received
critical acclaim from both Europe and America and sold copies of their previous
albums around the world. Much of the material on the bandÆs first two albums,
ôTractor Crashö and ôTinderbox Tragedyö, uniquely explored the helix of country,
rock and folk. On their third release ôWeight Of Gold,ö the band continued to
follow its muse. Musically, The Doxies discovered a new sense of purpose and
confidence on ôWeight of Gold", described by one critic as "pyshcedelic pirate
rock."
Enter 2006: with the addition of new drummer and vocalist Phylshawn Johnson The
Doxies continue on their musical journey. The new album "In Search of..." due
out in October as a co-release between Emergency Umbrella and Co-opt Records
showcases the bands songwriting ability through hooky melodies laden with lush
harmony on top of tough rock beats. In Search of... is one release to be
anticipated.
